He is going to be on £80k a week – over the entire season that represents £3m-odd. And there is no obligation to buy at the end of the period (which will be in the region of £17m).
I was miffed at the start – Carroll rejected any kind of move to the Hammers saying he was only interested in the Toon Army.
I am not sure why there was the turn around but Brendan Rodgers has told him he is not going to be a regular in the first squad at Anfield, and with their hunt for Clint Dempsey, that is a huge chunk of the wage bill cut.
Let’s see how he get’s on – he could be a Robbie Keane and do absolutely nothing. Then again he could be PDC and set the hearts of the Hammers faithful alight. Also looks like bye bye Carlton Cole…..
Impressed but sceptical – I hope Big Sam and Kevin Nolan can keep him on the straight and narrow. And no doubt that there will be hundreds of fans getting his name on the back of the shirt – so extra income for the club.
I will blog again at the end of the season. I can only hope…..
