I have stewed over this for a couple of days now and I have finally snapped.
The highlights on MOTD were hardly worth watching – a nothing display in the first, the much maligned Tom Cleverley getting the only goal……………….utter rubbish.
Second half seemed better – Nene whizzing a shot over and Valencia having a goal disallowed for offside – however, fact of the matter is this – we have not won an away game since the start of the year, and that is shit.
Who is to blame?
I have long kept faith in Big Sam, but enough is enough.
The tepid performance against Burnley had writing on the wall, for the fact that we had to win by a penalty.
Add to that, that we could not score in a whorehouse with a bunch of £20 notes…………….
Speculation about Sam’s position is not helping one bit and seems now to be a cause of the problems. Via the Ironviews blog, it is noted that he was a distant figure at the annual player awards as well.
With the contract ending at the end of the season. I cannot see him staying on as manager now that he has lost the crowd and the fans. Time to pack up the suitcase.
But who on earth are we going to replace him with? Slaven Bilic seems the real contender at the moment, although he has not managed in the Premiership………….and Moyes is not interested.
I sincerely hope we don’t get dragged through the mud in the summer, as it does not help. The only thing we should keep are our shining stars like Cresswell, Sahko and Adrian.
Time will tell, but enough Sam Allardyce – thank you for getting us up from the Championship – we are grateful – but your time is up.
