Hard earned point – Soon-dar-laand 2, Hammers 2

This had a banana skin written all over it.

And upto the first half, it was very much looking like that on the cards.

We were totally undone by some very good Sunderland goals. The likes of the second by Lens was top draw. And we gifted Sunderland these goals with silly mistakes, and suffered with a poor show within the first half. I was so disgusted I just switched off the TV……..it would be typical of West Ham to do so well against the big sides and fold against the weak ones as we have done time and time again.

Good on Jenko for getting his first goal, but with the Sunderland onslaught, this could well have been 3 or 4-1 up to half time. Excellent work by Victor Moses on the left flank – I think he is going to be a good asset for this term.

Different things in the second half.

And better for it.

Good to see Payet still producing the goods with yet another goal. This man is single handedly hauling us through games at times, with a little worry up front that we don’t seem to have too much bite. I am yet to be convinced by Jelavic…….he is a unit, but I am not sure how lively he is looking as a major threat. I am hoping that Carroll makes a real entrance soon.

TBH, I am relieved with a point – this was never going to be a good game to play, but at 2-2, there was a bit of a lack killer instinct to claim the victory.

But in saying that we have the best away record in the Premier League.

In Slaven We Trust.
