Regular readers will know that I am a bit of a fan of JDM land barges, and as the Garage expands with the 1/64 collection, I am looking to acquire more of these unique models that didn’t really see the light of day outside of the domestic market.
The Debonair is one of those land barges which I have never heard of until now through the TLV line. A big goliath of a lump, it was up there punching with the likes of the Nissan Gloria and Toyota’s Crown. Put next to the rest of the 1/64 Garage, this is a real unit – it is massive in comparison, and that is the way I like it. Irrelevant and pretentious, hitting the notes of Japanese success.
As usual all the Tomica refinements are there, with the shell and styling of the car captured nicely as usual. The front end is really well done, and the detail is impressive. But then again, whenever has it been rubbish. Whitewall tyres on the rims as well – that is stuff that sets these models out from the rest, the attention of detail. You can’t get better.
I do like the blue interior – if gives that feel of leather absurdness that such cars had of the era.
Once again, I am very pleased and this is a fine addition
