Siku do a very good job of utilising the MB Sprinter platform with various permutations ranging from a 6×6 to a food truck. Migros recently had their 30% off everything promo, so this is the only time that I look to buy diecast in Switzerland at retail.
This dual cab version has lots of play value with the opening doors and tilting tipper unit. Like most of the 1/50 versions of models, this is well built but the China influence is there, with the chassis in plastic as opposed to metal. Past models that were made in West Germany as it was then were cast in solid metal all over, but this is a sign of the times and the cost is too prohibitive to re-create in today’s age. Mattel are testament to that.
Siku are hardcore and quality models, but they are expensive. It will display well, equally making a good toy at the same time. I would love to add a steady stream of these to the garage, but this might be a long road driven.
