It gives me huge pleasure when the latest Tomica TLV casting is not a bloody Nissan Cedric. This model is an instant hit. I cannot remember the last time a Honda Prelude was made as a casting although one could say that Corgi produced a beauty in the early 1980s.
The reason that this casting appeals overall is theat it gives hope of Tomica being able to create the 1989 version
with its – at the time – revolutionary 4WS. That for me is when I noticed the Prelude as a cool car and then add to that the Tamiya 1/24 kit which was out at the same time period.
This model is the posh version – below is a nifty picture of the different trim levels for this particular one:
Smartly done this model captures all the elements of the car, with the addition of wing mirrors as well. I try to avoid adding these things as it is very fiddly and you need nerves of steel to mount them correctly.
I can see the other versions being done at some time – and I would like to see the XJ and/or XC models being given a go. We already have TLV-N146b HONDA PRELUDE 2.0Si 1985 in Olive, so there may well be some mileage left in this casting.
